Book Review Feb. 3

Beautiful Bastard by: Christina Lauren

5 Stars

Blurb: An ambitious intern. A perfectionist executive. And a whole lot of name calling. Discover the story that garnered more than two million reads online.

Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard.

Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office. As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they’re willing to lose in order to win each other.

Hottttt!!! One word to describe this book. Thanks to an ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, I'm now wishing I had my own panty rippin' boss. Yeah, Mr. Ryan can be a bit of a bastard but Chloe can dish eat it just as easily.
The chemistry between these two would melt steel. Brings to mind the elementary school lesson; the more a boy like you the more he picks on you. And boy, do these to fight.

"I hated her so much in that  moment. I hated that she was right and I was wrong, and I hated that she was forcing me to make a choice. I hated how much I wanted her, most of all," Mr. Ryan.

These two have nothing but a love-hate relationship throughout the majority of the book. Most times it's comical because you can only hope these two see the light.

"She knew I was a bastard, and she put up with it. I had no idea why, but she did," Mr. Ryan.

I loved following their relationship from start to finish. Ironically, it seemed more tame towards the end, as less panties were ripped and stolen, and the places they 'got it on' seemed to become almost normal.

I also admired Chloe's ambition. When she chooses to leave and not work under Mr. Ryan Senior I was shocked. But her dedication proved that she had deserved her position and could work beside Mr. Ryan, rather than just as his intern and without their relationship being her stepping stone.

I admit I was happy to see Mr. Ryan grovel at the end. Nothing like a man who learned from his mistakes. Was sad when their story ended but can't wait to see what else this author has in store for us!!!

HAPPY READING!!!
